Joining Team ShootOut

Can my player join if they missed tryouts?

Possibly. Depending on roster availability, we may still be able to evaluate your player and discuss team options. Reach out to us directly if your player missed tryouts but is still interested in joining.



Practices & Training

Where does Team ShootOut practice?

Team ShootOut practices are typically held at AmeriSports in Rockwall, Texas unless otherwise communicated by the coaching staff.

How often do teams practice?

Practice schedules can vary by team, season, and gym availability. Most teams practice weekly, and some teams may have additional optional workouts, skill sessions, or training opportunities throughout the season.

What should players bring to practice?

Players should come to practice prepared with:

Does Team ShootOut offer additional skill development?

Yes. In addition to team practices, Team ShootOut may offer optional workouts, camps, clinics, and skill development sessions to help players continue improving outside of team practice.

Is Team ShootOut a recreational or competitive program?

Team ShootOut is a competitive basketball program. We are committed to player development, but our teams also compete to win and challenge players in a more competitive environment.

Can my player play Team ShootOut and school basketball or another sport?

In many cases, yes. We understand that players may also participate in school sports and other activities. Communication is important so coaches can plan for attendance and availability.

How much does Team ShootOut cost?

What is expected from Team ShootOut parents?

We ask parents to support their athlete, communicate respectfully, and help us create a positive team environment. We value parent partnership, but coaching decisions, playing time, and team management are handled by the coaching staff.

Is playing time guaranteed?

Playing time is not guaranteed. It may be influenced by attendance, effort, attitude, development, team needs, and game situations.

What happens if my player misses practice or a tournament?

Families should communicate absences to their coach as early as possible. Repeated unexcused absences may affect a player’s role, playing time, or roster status.

How are teams formed?

Teams are formed based on age or grade level, skill level, roster fit, and overall team needs. Our goal is to place players in an environment where they can develop, contribute, and compete.
